How we tested candy in a 30 ml shortfill
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Finland, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in Finland, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a candy bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where candy goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in Finland stocks.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised €39 entry kit as the real cost when refills run €1.81 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Finland caps nicotine at 20 mg/ml and bans most advertising for these products.
Packaging for candy in Finland must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How long does candy in a 30 ml shortfill last?
In Finland we measured 5 to 19 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does candy taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the candy blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On candy the budget price and the premium price can sit within €1.81 per 10 ml once 3–6 business days is counted.
