The short version: tobacco in Finland works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco box mod really costs in Finland
Tobacco box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 19 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested tobacco in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Finland, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 3–6 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in Finland, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Finland stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long tobacco in Finland survives.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Finland sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is 20 mg/mL. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Finland caps nicotine at 20 mg/ml and bans most advertising for these products.

Frequently asked questions
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Finland: about €2.18 per 10 ml liquid plus €33 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tobacco the budget price and the premium price can sit within €2.18 per 10 ml once 3–6 business days is counted.
